Texas Fishing Reports: TPWD Weekly Reports Are On Hold. What Now?
If you're looking for the TPWD weekly fishing report for your lake, here's the situation and where to get reliable information in the meantime.
What happened
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department's fishing report page currently says: Weekly fishing reports are currently on hold while TPWD works to improve the quality and accuracy of future reporting.
(TPWD fishing reports, checked Oct 20, 2026). Past reports are still available. The most recent freshwater reports listed there are dated February 25, 2026 (archive).
Where to get current information
- Lake levels: our daily lake level pages use the Texas Water Development Board's daily data (plus USGS gauges where available). Level and recent change are among the biggest factors in where fish hold and which ramps are usable.
- Lake facts, regulations, stocking and surveys: each lake page links to its TPWD lake page and the Outdoor Annual.
- Trout stocking (winter): TPWD rainbow trout stocking schedule.
- Golden alga and harmful algal blooms: TPWD harmful algal bloom information.
- Big bass: Toyota ShareLunker program.
- Angler reports: we accept reader fishing reports and review them before publishing. We never invent or rewrite catch reports.
